Manway & Portal

Manways (Manholes), and Portals are hatches that allow access to the interior of the tank when opened while allowing a liquid tight seal when closed. Manways are generally larger and allow entry into the tank; Portals are generally smaller and used for inspection and cleaning of the tank. Both should be closed and secured when the the unit is operating or transporting. Manways and Portals should be opened monthly so the interior of your tank can be inspected and cleaned. Some manufacturers are: Masport, National Vacuum Equipment, Chandler Equipment, Fruitland, TTI and Betts.
